Although we wish that certain things never occurred in our lives, there is nothing that we can do to erase the painful memoirs that are forever etched into our past.
Too often, we replay
· every humiliating moment that we ever experienced,
· and all of the times that we were disappointed because of
something that someone else failed to do.
Although we want to forget and let go, we tend to rehearse all of the cruel suffering we ever endured. At the same time, we vow to never again allow anyone to inflict upon us this kind of pain.
We must not continue to live in it.
We must learn from it.
I don't know what you need to let go of, but I do know that it is time to stop allowing it to keep you in bondage.
So, tonight, I am making a vow to let _________________ go. Will you make that vow with me?
Fill in the blank with whatever it is that you're letting go.
Philippians 3:13-14
...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
I'm going to let my fear go. I've been sick for the past few months, and my health has been a complete roller coaster. It's time to trust in His plan and stop worrying about what I can't control! Just returning the blog love from Doing You Well Wednesday, and I'm looking forward to your updates! Have a fabulous week.

Thanks ! Praying for your healing.
DeleteHi Victory! It's so easy to allow those thoughts to consume us. It's certainly healthy to get help when needed, and talk through hurtful circumstances; however, the key is not to allow those circumstances to have power over us. I'm so thankful that the Lord helps us take every thought captive... for our healing and His glory. I really enjoy your posts!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you ~ Mary
Yes, we can take our thoughts captive. That, too, is a choice - a very wise Godly choice! We must be very conscientious to do so.
DeleteGreat post, Victory. I love the scripture you quoted from Philippians. Thanks for being vulnerable and challenging us with your post!

You're welcome, and thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThis is great! We think it's so much easier for us to keep holding on to things, when in fact, when we let them go...is when we realize how much easier life becomes. Thanks for sharing and thanks so much for linking up! Have a blessed evening!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Have a blessed evening, also.
ReplyDeleteso amazing how He give us encouragement through His vessels at the exact time we need them. Regarding the exact issue we're dealing with! I am trying to discipline myself that whenever I start to "allow someone to live rent free in my head" - I pray for them instead of rehashing what happened, having a two person conversation - with just myself. You know, that imaginary role playing. I hate how these thoughts begin to consume your total mind, your total thoughts, and your actual conversations with other people. UGHHHH!!! Thanks for the tips! Striving to be more like Christ. How He so blesses!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
