Hummus
This easy, delicious, nutritious snack was quite simple to make.
Ingredients
1 can of chickpeas (also called garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
1-2 tablespoons of tahini
the juice of 1-2 limes, depending on the desired taste
a clove (or more) of garlic, depending on taste
These were the seasonings that I used.
a pinch of cayenne
dill weed
garlic sea salt
parsley flakes
I used a blender to mix the ingredients for a very smooth consistency. A food processor could also be used.
Voila'!!!
I chose to pair my hummus dip with carrots, crackers and a salad.
Looks delicious! I am making changes to my diet and would like to try this. The presentation is wonderful. Have a great Monday.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it is delicious and good for you. It is a great way to add more beans to your diet.
ReplyDeleteWish I could reach through the screen and scoop up some of that dip. :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Meredith
If you could, I would have a scoop waiting here just for you!
DeleteLooks delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting again, and have a great day!
DeleteI absolutely love hummus! I don't make my own very often because I am always buying the jalapeno cilantro hummus from Trader Joes. Looking at your photos makes me want some hummus and warm pita bread. YUM!
ReplyDeleteLV, before I started making my own hummus, I wasn't a fan of it. There was something about the hummus that I bought that I didn't like. Making it has allowed me to make it fit my taste buds. Have a great day!
DeleteI tried making my own hummus a few months ago and haven't looked back since. I LOVE making it myself now. mmmm!
ReplyDeleteBekah,
DeleteAs long as I have time to make it, I have a hunch that I won't be buying much of it anymore.
You wouldn't believe this Trinity, but I have never had hummus...IKR!! Your recipe looks delicious AND easy...two things I love, lol! Have a good one my friend!!
ReplyDeleteMichell, it is definitely an easy recipe. I never thought that I would like it until I started making my own. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good weekend!
DeleteI really need to make these for my husband- He is trying to stay away from meat! Thanks for this recipe Trinity!!
ReplyDeleteChris, if he is not a picky-eater and he's willing to try something new, he might like it. Thanks for stopping by!
