Meatless Monday #27

Hummus

This easy, delicious, nutritious snack was quite simple to make.

Ingredients
1 can of chickpeas (also called garbanzo beans), rinsed and drained
1-2 tablespoons of tahini
the juice of 1-2 limes, depending on the desired taste
a clove (or more) of garlic, depending on taste

These were the seasonings that I used.
a pinch of cayenne
dill weed
garlic sea salt
parsley flakes

I used a blender to mix the ingredients for a very smooth consistency.  A food processor could also be used.

 Voila'!!!

I chose to pair my hummus dip with carrots, crackers and a salad.

  5. I absolutely love hummus! I don't make my own very often because I am always buying the jalapeno cilantro hummus from Trader Joes. Looking at your photos makes me want some hummus and warm pita bread. YUM!

    1. LV, before I started making my own hummus, I wasn't a fan of it. There was something about the hummus that I bought that I didn't like. Making it has allowed me to make it fit my taste buds. Have a great day!

    1. Bekah,
As long as I have time to make it, I have a hunch that I won't be buying much of it anymore.
