Meatless Monday #35

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to enjoy a meal from a vegan restaurant.  It was my first time ever going to a vegan  establishment.  While traveling to visit family in Florida, I stopped at Vegan2go in Gainesville.

After looking over the menu, I was so excited about the options.  I decided to order the chicken and rice - a familiar dish.  I had never tried mock chicken before, and I was unsure as to how it would taste.  I only waited about 10 minutes.  When I received my order, I was amazed!  It was delicious - very full of flavor.  The mock meat was definitely the texture of chicken, and it had been prepared in some type of sweet, ginger sauce.  It came with yellow jasmine rice and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes.  The serving was more than enough.  I was able to get two servings from one entrĂ©e!

The price was not bad - $8.25.  The service was good.  And, I will definitely visit Vegan2go again when I'm in Gainesville.

Vegan2go offers weekly meals for those who want to eat plant-based food, but are too busy to prepare them.  Check out their menu HERE.

  1. Not bad! I'm not personally a fan of fake meat, but there's no arguing that you got a steal at that price!

  2. This looks delicious! I cook vegetarian and vegan a lot because my daughter is vegetarian and I've never cooked mock chicken before. I think if you flavour the heck out of it it should be good. I was always afraid to try it! Stopping over from the Let's Get Real Blog Hop!

    1. I've never tried cooking it, but you're probably right about seasoning it. This dish was very tasty. They did an excellent job with the seasoning. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Hiya, my daughter's just become a vegan two months ago, before she was a vegetarian. There isn't a big choice of food and no vegan restaurants in our little town! She would have enjoyed your plate! God bless.
