Break It!

      In Mark 14, a woman with a precious oil in an alabaster box went to Simon’s house to worship Jesus. According to scripture, she broke the box and poured the oil upon Jesus’ head. Notice , she broke it. This scripture reminds me that there are things in our lives that sometimes need to be broken.

      Some of those things that need to be broken are:

- strongholds,

- addictions, and

- unhealthy relationships

        When something has been broken , it has been shattered - often beyond man’s repair. But, God is able to:

- repair your shattered situation,

- put together everything that the devil has broken and

  destroyed

- return that which the enemy has stolen (David’s Ziglag

  experience)

- give you double for your trouble (Job), and

- to restore (it, you, them) better than it ever was before.

     Sometimes, God will take the broken stuff and use it as a foundation to make the new stuff. On one occasion in the Bible, after Jesus had preached to thousands of people (Matthew), the people were hungry. Jesus took a child’s fish lunch, blessed it and BROKE it. When He BROKE it, the Bible tells us that it multiplied from two fish and five loaves to an excess of twelve baskets of leftovers.

    He can not use the old broken stuff if you are trying to pick it up and put it back together. You can not have the new and repaired situation if you are trying to hold on to the old broken, busted and disgusted situation. God does not need your help, nor does He need mine. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)

    So, I challenge you to break whatever it is that has you bound and give it to Him . Old things will be passed way, all things will become anew. And, as long as you stay connected to THE source, He will shatterproof the new thing in your life and give it abiding power so that it remains stable and fixed for your enjoyment and for His glory!

He Is Risen

1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,[a] and sat on it.

3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.

6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”

8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

The Women Worship the Risen Lord

9 And as they went to tell His disciples,[b] behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Knowing When The Season Is Over

Many years ago, Kenny Rogers wrote the following lyrics to a very popular song. 

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

These lyrics are a reminder that , in life, wisdom must be applied if decisions are going to be made. Too often, we get caught in the middle of decisions and end up sitting on the fence. However, there comes a time when there is a “time out” for straddling the fence. There comes a time when life forces you to get over the fence without looking back . In life, there are no perfect decisions.

How ,then, do I know when it is time to leave the present season and move into the new season?

You know …

- You can walk away and move to the next chapter when you finally have no regrets about what you should have/could have done.

- You can walk away and move to the next chapter when there is no fear nor hesitation about taking the next step.

If this is your season, walk boldly into it!

Isaiah 43:19

After This ...

There  WILL BE glory after this. After what? Whatever you are facing right now.

After the pain -

After the brokenness -

After the divorce -

After the sickness -

After the embarrassment and the humiliation -

After the bankruptcy -

After the ______________________ (fill in the blank) -

It may not look like it. It may not feel like it. It may not seem like it. But, there will be glory after this.  There will be victory after this.  The WORD promises that we walk by faith and not by sight. Hang on in there. Stand your ground - even in the middle of the battle that you are in. For, the battle does not go to the swift, nor to the strong. But, it goes to the one that endures unto the end.

Today I Choose …

Today, I choose to be thankful. In spite of the fact that things are not as good as they seem, nor are things as bad as they seem. I choose to focus on that which is positive. Thank you, God, for your bountiful blessings. Thank you that YOU are God and without you, there is none other. Open my eyes, today, so that I may only see the good. You said, in your WORD, that we are to give thanks in everything (not for everything, but in everything). Thank you, God, for keeping my mind focused on that which is true, honest, pure, lovely, virtuous, praiseworthy and of a good report.

Do You Really Care?

If a person does not display love and respect when you are well and able, should you expect it from that person when you are down and out? Too often, we expect others to make unrealistic transformations during times of sickness or sadness - to show concern and lend a helping hand when we are unable to do for ourselves. We expect them to visit or share an encouraging word. How irrational!

If you care about someone or love someone, give them their flowers when they can appreciate them. Praise them when they are up. Don’t wait until something is wrong to show that you care.

Display the same love and compassion to others that you so desperately desire from others.
